Twickenham RC’s Fours Head Report
Twickenham’s veteran quad won their division in the Veterans’ Fours Head on Sunday 9th November.
The crew comprising of Robert Bailey (stroke), Simon Pullen, Dennis Kenny and John Sewell (bow/steers) rowed in the Veteran F division (average age 60) and finished in 22m04.84s to be 58th out of the 140 crews of all types who took part and beating six other Veteran F coxless quads to win that division.
The previous day, at the annual Fours Head of the River on the same stretch of river, was also a day of good performances from the Twickenham senior men’s squad.
Twickenham RC entered two squads in the S3 division and team 1, comprising of Jonno Davidson (stroke), James Morton, Steve Bowers, Peter Crush (bow) and cox Michael Loweth came 9th out of 47 in a time of 21m14s. No one caught them but they passed 3 boats and caught up with a fourth boat, local rivals Thames RC. They came 199th overall from a pool of 470 racing boats.
Team 2 comprised of Jonathan Rowland (stroke), James Frater, Anthony Cox, Andrew Fletcher (bow) and Christine Palmer (cox). They came in 34th place in the same category, and 332nd overall in a time of 22m27s.
