The centre received £50,000 from Sport England’s Inspired Facilities funding for its new wing, which comprises changing rooms, showers and a training facility, and celebrated with a free open weekend on 7-8 September. Now celebrating its 50th anniversary, the centre hosts a number of water sports activities for the wider community including rowing sessions, which are being delivered by British Rowing. The sessions form part of the Water Ways for Well-being Project – a partnership between British Rowing and Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council to provide more indoor and on-the-water rowing opportunities for Dudley and the surrounding population.
