Host clubs announced for University Indoor Rowing Series

BUCS, in partnership with British Rowing, has announced the university rowing clubs which will host events as part of the University Indoor Rowing Series 2015.

The University Indoor Rowing Series (UIRS) offers universities the opportunity to create and stage fast and furious racing for indoor rowers of all abilities. Events will take place between Saturday 31st October and Sunday 22nd November 2015 to determine who are the fastest university rowers over 2,000m.

Each individual event will be exhibiting a variety of categories open to entries from experience rowers to complete beginners. University rowing clubs will be heralding determined performances from novices, to showcasing and celebrating their fastest athletes. Entry is open to all people wanting to get involved and give indoor rowing a try, with each host university rowing club welcoming guest entrants from outside the rowing community.

Throughout the UIRS the times set by eligible students will be entered into the BUCS Indoor Rowing Championships. Following the culmination of all events the quickest male and female students within the select categories of heavyweight, lightweight, adaptive rowing and beginner will be crowned BUCS Indoor Rowing Champions 2015. A men’s and women’s team event comprising of the top four individual scores across all BUCS categories is also awarded to the highest scoring institutions.

More information on the UIRS, host university rowing clubs, venues and timings will be released in the next few months.
