Francesca Rawlins joined the GB Rowing Team in 2018 after a series of impressive results in the winter Trials process.
The Tideway Scullers School lightweight rower finished first in the single scull in the first Winter Assessment in Boston – the first TSS rower to do so – and sixth at the Third Assessment behind a number of 2017 World Championship rowers.
At the final Trial in April, Rawlins finished fifth in a tight race won by Emily Craig.
In the 2018 season, Rawlins has raced in the lightwight women’s double and quadruple sculls, with a best finish of fourth in the lightweight quad at the World Cup in Lucerne. At the Glasgow 2018 European Championships, Rawlins stepped into the lightweight double at the last minute to partner Ellie Piggott and recorded a sixth-place finish.
