Memorial Service for David Parry
The memorial service for David Parry will be held on Thursday 4th December, at 3pm at St Mary the Virgin in Henley upon Thames, afterwards at Leander Club.
A former Club Captain and President of Walton Rowing Club as well as a Henley Royal Regatta Steward, David’s contribution to rowing was significant. He represented Walton RC at in the Wyfolds in 1958, 1959 and 1960, and then represented Tideway Scullers School in Thames and Wyfold in 1962 and 1963. David was part of the winning Molesey crew who took the title in the Prince Philip in 1964, to then go on in the same crew to represent Great Britain at the 1964 European Championships. David also served in many positions of authority in the sport, and in recent years was a trustee of the Rowing Foundation. He will be sadly missed.
