2012 World Rowing Coastal Champs Cancelled
FISA has announced that this year’s World Rowing Coastal Championships have been cancelled.
The Croatian Rowing Federation and the City of Rijeka have withdrawn as hosts of the event due to financial reasons, with FISA deciding that there is too little time remaining to find a new host.
The 2012 Coastal Championships were scheduled to take place from 19-21 October.
For coastal rowers looking to compete internationally this year, World Rowing is keen to highlight the following events – all of which welcome international crews:
2012 Öresund Coastal Rowing Race 28th July 2012, Sweden
Helsingborg Rowing Club invites coastal rowers from around the world to enter the 2012 Öresund Coastal Rowing Race, which will serve as the test event for the 2013 World Coastal Championships and will take place on the 28th July 2012. 2012 Criterium OPEN long distance (16km) Race 7th October, France

Italian Coastal Championships
The Italian Coastal Rowing Championships will take place from 1-2 September in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy. More information will be posted on the World Rowing website.
